Applied research, science, technology to transform global health

The Aging Well Institute (AWI) is a transformative platform designed to catalyze groundbreaking discoveries for chronic disease prevention, inform policies for reducing economic costs and healthcare burden generally associated with advancing age, and identify determinants of sustaining lifelong physical, cognitive and mental health.

Housed at the Boston University School of Public Health, the US team at AWI includes leading experts, thought leaders and skilled practitioners driving innovation and discovery in age-related disease and chronic disease prevention.  The AWI model focuses on urban living, aging and well-being, health across the life course and health systems. These projects will transfer scientific research and technology breakthroughs to real world applications and solutions that will transform lives, families, communities and populations.
